The 2021 vintage marked a cooler growing season than in 2020 and continued another consecutive year of drought for the Central Coast. The result of these conditions were smaller, more intense berries, low yield, and beautiful concentration with freshness and vibrancy in all the wines. This vintage also did not favor any specific variety and we were able to make the style of wines we wanted and are known for with slightly more pronounced tannins to provide the structure for these wines to age gracefully for many
years to come.

The 2021 Jersey Girl embodies our love for not only blends but also cofermentations. The Côte-Rôtie-style co-fermentation at the core of this blend was comprised of 13% Viognier and the remainder Syrah (383 & 174). A co-fermentation of our newest clones of Syrah (05.4 & 07.1) provided the inky, dark color and rustic, smokey notes that are a hallmark of this Jada wine. Overall about 7% of Syrah was fermented as whole cluster to add more spice, floral notes, and complex fruit aromatics.
