Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Coy Hill is a limited-edition, single-barrel Tennessee whiskey selected from barrels aged in the unique Coy Hill barrelhouses at the Jack Daniel Distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee. This expression highlights how warehouse location and extended maturation at elevated positions influence flavor and intensity.
Proof & Aging:
-
Bottled at barrel proof (natural strength straight from the barrel) with ABVs typically ranging from about 122 to ~137.5 proof in the 2024 release.
-
Matured for many years (often a decade or more) in American white oak barrels at high warehouse elevations, giving deeper maturation effects.
Mash Bill & Production:
-
Classic Jack Daniel’s mash (80% corn, 12% malted barley, 8% rye)
-
Charcoal mellowed through the Lincoln County Process before barreling — a hallmark of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee whiskey.
Tasting Profile (Typical):
-
Appearance: Dark maple-amber color.
-
Nose: Rich caramel and toasted oak with brown sugar, baking spices (cinnamon, clove), and hints of red fruits and vanilla.
-
Palate: Full-bodied and layered — notes of caramel, toasted oak, spice, toffee, smoke, leather, and occasionally dark fruit or graham cracker.
-
Finish: Long and complex with lingering spice, oak, and sweet brown sugar or dark fruit characteristics.
