Glenville Napa Cabernet

Glenville Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Region & Vineyard:
Hailing from the renowned Napa Valley appellation, this Cabernet Sauvignon benefits from the region’s terroir—including warm daytime temps, cool marine-influenced nights, and well-drained soils—ideal for crafting bold, ripe Cabernet.

Wine-making & Maturation:
The grapes are hand-picked at peak ripeness in the early morning hours and delivered to the winery under cooled conditions to retain freshness and intensity. They’re destemmed and fermented in stainless steel vats for approximately 14 days. After fermentation, the wine is transferred to French oak barrels, with an aging regime of around 20 months in French oak.

Tasting Profile:

  • Color: Deep, rich dark black and red hues.

  • Aromas: A fragrant bouquet of blackberries and ripe cherries, layered with sweet oak and cocoa powder.

  • Palate: Full-bodied and well composed—flavors of ripe blackberry pie, cassis, dark fruit compote, mocha powder and a touch of spice. The drink offers firm structure and elegant balance.

  • Finish: Smooth, lingering finish with polished tannins and refined oak influence holding in check the strength of the fruit.

Food Pairing:
This wine pairs excellently with rich fare: grilled rib-eye steak, herb-crusted lamb chops, aged cheddar or Gouda, and decadent dark chocolate desserts.

Technical Details:

  • Appellation: Napa Valley, California

  • Varietal: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon (typical)

  • Alcohol: Approximately 14.5% ABV for the 2021 vintage.

  • Aging: 20 months French oak (for recent vintage)
