The vineyard of the Clos de Chene, named for the grove of oaks which occupied this area a long time ago, is the largest 1er Cru of Volnay. The Domaine Latour Giraud owns 26 acres of vineyards near the top of the hill. The clay soils here add strength and body to the delicacy of the wine, complimented by a silky palate and lovely woody notes in the bouquet. Enjoy with grilled meats and game.
