Bedford Monterey County Pinot Noir

Region & Vineyard:
Sourced from vineyards in the cool-maritime appellation of Monterey County on California’s Central Coast, where coastal breezes and morning fog help preserve freshness and bright red-fruit character. 

Winemaking & Maturation:
The grapes are harvested at peak ripeness—typically in the early morning—then hand-sorted and gently destemmed into small open-top fermenters. Fermentation lasts about 7-14 days with three punch-downs per day. After pressing, the wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels (approximately 40% new oak) to integrate subtle oak nuance with the primary fruit. 

Tasting Profile:

• Aromas: Bright, jewel-red hues in the glass. On the nose, expect aromas of raspberry, cherry, cola and spice notes. 

• Palate: Sweet red-fruit flavors (raspberry, cherry) with hints of cinnamon spice and vanilla from oak influence. The texture is smooth, approachable, and well-balanced. 

• Finish: A clean, moderately long finish with fruit and spice lingering together.

Food Pairing:
This Pinot Noir pairs beautifully with lightly grilled or roasted red meats (butterflied lamb, grilled steak), roasted poultry, mushroom dishes, and even richer seafood like seared tuna or salmon. Its balance of fruit and spice also makes it great for elevated casual dining.
